The hotel's decoration is charming, with beautiful traditional Moroccan touches that transport you to another time. The general areas are cozy and inviting, making it easy for senior people to relax and enjoy their stay. The hotel's central location in the heart of the medina makes it convenient for us older folks to explore and experience all that Essaouira has to offer.
While the children working there were generally helpful and friendly, it would have been nice to have more assistance or options specifically tailored to the needs and comfort of senior guests.

Such an amazing stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful, always there to assist with anything. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of the city and close to everything. Plus, the hostel had a cozy rooftop with plenty of plants and a cool vibe. The wifi was also great, no signal issues at all. And let's not forget about the delicious breakfast they served, it was a real treat!
There were a few minor downsides though. the rugs in the room could definitely use a good cleaning.

My recent stay at Berber was absolutely fantastic. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the medina and just a short walk from the beach. The private room I stayed in was spacious and had a bathroom conveniently located across the hall. The atmosphere at the hostel was incredibly relaxed and I felt comfortable during my entire stay. Ibrahim, the host, was friendly and always available to help with any questions or requests. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Berber to anyone visiting Essaouira.

Very chill and friendly atmosphere, perfect for a weekend trip
Helpful and friendly owner, Ibrahim, who ensures a good stay in Essaouira. Moroccan flair in the open hall and rooftop terrace adds to the overall ambiance. - Clean and cozy rooms with warm blankets for colder weather. - Well-equipped kitchen for self-catering purposes
Felt privileged, no reason to complain

The location of the hostel was fantastic - just a short walk from Plage d'Essaouira and a convenient distance from Golf de Mogador. We were able to easily explore both the beautiful beach and the golf course during our stay. , the bike hire facility at the accommodation made it even more convenient for us to explore the surrounding areas. It was a great way for our family to spend quality time together and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
For dads, it would be great to have more family-friendly activities available.

The rooms at Berber Hostel are really cozy and comfortable. I loved the private entrance of the double room, it made me feel like I had my own little space. The free WiFi was a great bonus too, keeping me connected with the world.
I personally didn't enjoy the shared bathroom. But hey, some people might not mind it at all.

Loved the "activities" in-and-around. The super-fast express check-in and check-out gave me the adrenaline rush I needed. Oh, and the paid airport shuttle was an absolute hoot.
Just a tiny, itsy-bitsy complaint. I absolutely adored the smell of the drains.

We had the sickest time with our crew, chilling at Plage d'Essaouira and shredding some sick waves. And guess what? The hostel had bike hire, so we rode like crazy to Golf de Mogador, pretending we were pros! Can you imagine? We felt so free, man. It was the perfect vibe for us young and adventurous peeps.
If there's just one thing we'd ask for, it's more late-night fun at the hostel. We were craving some wild parties with fellow partygoers.

I absolutely loved the cozy and colorful traditional hippy decor at the hostel. The wooden beds and the overall design made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The rooftop terrace and the open-air living room downstairs were perfect places to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. As a senior person, I also appreciated that the hostel was located in the heart of the medina and close to the main streets, making it easily accessible for me.
The only thing I would ask for to make the vacation better for senior people is for the staff to be more attentive and welcoming. There were moments when I felt unwelcome and unappreciated by the children working there, which made me feel somewhat uncomfortable.

I stayed at Berber for a short trip and loved it. The people were warm, friendly, and open-minded, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The rooms were clean and practical, with no pretensions. Special shout out to Brahim, the amazing manager who was like a guide, problem solver, and friend all in one. The location was perfect for exploring, with the souk, food markets, and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The hostel had a colorful terrace where guests could hang out, chat, and enjoy the ambiance.
Would recommend this hotel.
